University of Warsaw's Research Data Repository 

- preparing data for sharing and using the platform

Join us for a webinar on how to use the instutional Research Data Repository of University of Warsaw. We will also cover the subject of preparing research data for sharing. The training is intended for research staff and PhD students from the University of Warsaw.

Part 1: Preparing research data for sharing (120 mins)

  1. Research data - definitions
  2. Benefits of research data management 
  3. Data Management Plan (DMP)
  4. Research data in Horizon Europe and NCN grants
  5. Selecting and preparing data for sharing
  6. Depositing a sample dataset in the repository


Break (15 minutes)


Part 2: Legal aspects of sharing research data (90 mins)

  1. Research data as subject of legal regulations
  2. Sharing research data from an intellectual property law perspective
  3. Sharing research data from the perspective of personal data protection
  4. Commercialisation of research outputs
  5. Using open and free licences (Creative Commons and Open Data Commons)

The training will be led by Agnieszka Cybulska and Katarzyna Gaczyńska from the Open Science Platform (ICM UW). There will be time for questions and answers during the meeting.  

The number of participants is limited. Confirmation of registration will be sent in a separate email.  

The training is organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw in cooperation with the Digital Competence Centre at the University of Warsaw. 

The training is delivered as part of Action I.3.6 "Digital Humanities" of the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" programme.

1. The Controller of your personal data is the University of Warsaw, 26/28 Krakowskie Przedmieście, 00-927 Warsaw. 

2. The Controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer to supervise the correctness of personal data processing, who can be contacted via e-mail address: iod@adm.uw.edu.pl. 

3. Personal data will be processed for the purpose of organising a webinar on research data management. The webinar is organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computer Modelling at the University of Warsaw. 

4 The data provided will be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). 

5. The provision of data is voluntary however necessary in order to participate in the webinar.

6. Data will not be disclosed to external entities except as provided by law. 

7. Your data will be stored until you revoke your consent. 

8. You have the right of access to the content of your data and the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, the right to withdraw consent at any time. 

9. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office. 

10. Your data will not be processed by automated means and will not be subject to profiling.
